Sum-sum-summertime! Almost...

It's not technically summer, but school's out and it's the season for spray grounds. We will still visit the old favorites (Turtle, Chevy Chase, Yards, Lyon and "Nate's" Park), but our inaugural splash park action began last weekend at the new Georgetown Waterfront. We packed a picnic lunch for the boys, and Jeff enjoyed a not-so-healthy grilled cheese sandwich from the Big Cheese truck. After eating their sandwiches (cold cheese for Drew, strawberry jam for Henry), the kids made their way to the sprays. Drew jumped right in. Henry held back. Jeff and I also ran through the tunnel formed by the water, trying our best not to get wet. This won't be our last trip there. Next time, I will bring a change of clothes. And an umbrella (for shade --- the trees are pretty much just saplings and provide exactly three square inches of protection from the sun).
